Trzy Siostry was a collaboration between dancers and choreographers Elyse Fahey and Madrone Matysiak and New Media artist Drew Trujillo. Using Drew Trujillo’s sonification system ¡Otro! the piece tells a story of two sisters who are searching for the third.
Trzy Siostry was funded by the City of Albuquerque Public Art Program and presented at Gallery One in City Hall and at the UNM ARTSLab.
¡Otro! uses sensors to create a sonified experience based on the dancers’ location, movements, and interactions, reflecting the emotional depth of the tale and a critique of displacement, bridging folklore with historical reality through innovative acoustemology.
